An enormous gorilla weighing 25 stone strikes an odd connection with a tiny bushbaby – so small that it is smaller than the gorilla’s thumb. Bobo, a gorilla in need of rescue, is captured in adorable images cradling his new little pal and peering at him with curiosity in adorable photos. Following their touching bond, the ‘fair and gentle’ Western lowland gorilla even allowed the little bush baby to crawl around his body. In Mefou Primate Sanctuary, Cameroon, photographer Alex Benitez obtained these images.

#3. Elisse O’Sullivan, an Ape Action Africa representative, believes the bush baby had been living in the gorilla’s cage. According to her, “the bush baby showed no fear of Bobo, wandering around his body and spending time in an open grassy area before returning to Bobo.”
